Pilot Roaster compatibility
Every machine Pilot connects to, and what it does on each.
This list grows. Every machine here is a preset you pick from a list — no register hunting. Tested means it has run on real hardware. Connects means the control is built and waiting for a roaster to prove it. Pilot is free, so that roaster can be yours.
Tested
Run on real hardware.
Connected, roasted, and where control is listed, driven by Pilot. These are the machines we can vouch for from our own bench.
-
Kaleido M1 · M1 Pro
Full control.
USB, WiFi, or Bluetooth. Heater, fan, and drum, with PID and Auto roast following a profile. Tested wired and wireless.
-
Phidget thermocouples
Any roaster, any probe.
USB thermocouple interface. Pilot reads bean and environment temperature from probes you fit yourself, on a machine with no interface of its own.
Connects
Built. Free to test on yours.
Control is written for each of these. We have not had one of every model on the bench. Run one, tell us, and it moves up.
-
Aillio Bullet · R1 · R2
Control built.
USB. Heater, fan, and drum.
-
ROEST L100 · S100 · L200
Control built.
Bluetooth. Heater and fan.
-
Hottop
Control built.
USB serial. Heater, fan, and drum.
-
Sandbox Smart R1 · R2
Control built.
Bluetooth. Heater, fan, and drum.
-
IKAWA Pro · Home · Pro X
Setpoint and fan, through the profile.
Bluetooth. IKAWA's own protocol has no live heater command — the machine runs a stored profile, and Pilot rewrites that profile to move the temperature setpoint and fan. Live curve and the full record.
-
Kaffelogic Nano 7
Fan hand-off.
USB serial. The Nano runs its own profile and hands Pilot the fan. Live curve and the full record.
Read and record. The roaster keeps the wheel.
Pilot reads the machine over Modbus or a Siemens S7 PLC, draws the live curve, and keeps the full record. The roaster's own panel drives. This is deliberate: control on a commercial machine is a validation decision made per model, not a switch.
Modbus RTU, TCP and UDP
Loring Smart Roast, Diedrich CR and DR, Mill City DCP 1000, Toper TKM-SX, Joper BSR/BPR/BR, Coffed SR Series, IMF RM, San Franciscan SF, Sivetz SRM, Besca BSC, Cogen Series C, NOR N-Series, Sweet Coffee Gemma 2IND, Caparaó Prime Line, and Twino / Ozstar. Anything else that exposes registers can be pointed at by hand.
Siemens S7
Loring S7 Nighthawk, and any roaster whose PLC speaks S7 and can be configured by hand. Read-only by design: Pilot never writes to a PLC it has not been validated against. Probat and Giesen use their own S7 arrangements and are not supported yet.
No interface at all.
For roasters that expose nothing, Pilot still keeps the record. Fit a Phidget and it reads the curve; otherwise enter readings by hand and mark milestones with a key.
Manual logging presets
Behmor 1600 Plus, Gene Cafe CBR-101, Fresh Roast SR540 and SR800, Kaldi Wide, and a generic home roaster. Events by hand, optionally paired with a probe.
Demo mode
The whole app on sample data with nothing plugged in. Open it, roast an imaginary batch, and see what the record looks like before you connect anything.
Questions about your machine
Possibly. Most commercial drum roasters expose their temperatures over Modbus or a Siemens S7 PLC, and Pilot can be pointed at either by hand even where there is no named preset. If the machine has no interface at all, a Phidget thermocouple over USB gives Pilot the curve, and readings can always be entered by hand. Pilot is free, so the test costs nothing — and if it works, tell us and the machine goes on this page.
Find out on your own roaster.
Pilot is free. Download it, connect, and see the curve. If it works on a machine we have not tested, tell us and it goes on this page.
